Montreal Wedding Venues: Some great places to get married in Montreal, Monteregie and the Laurentians

As a Montreal Wedding Photographer, I know that the search for the perfect Montreal, West Island or Monteregie wedding venue is both exciting and overwhelming, as there are so many wonderful choices. Your wedding venue should reflect your personalities, style and preferences, and have features that will make the wedding a wonderful experience and celebration with your guests. Each of the featured venues have a variety of benefits and options. Whether you seek an upscale, luxury venue or a laid-back, rustic venue, there is a lot of selection in our beautiful city as well as in outlying regions.

The wedding venues I have featured are either venues I have personally photographed at, or are spots that match the style that my couples seek. Most are not in the city proper but in surrounding areas. Find your perfect Montreal wedding venue here!

Off-Island Montreal and Monteregie Wedding Venues

Chateau-Vaudreuil

The only 5-star hotel in Montreal’s Monteregie region, a Chateau Vaudreuil wedding is a luxury option for couples who appreciate manicured, beautiful grounds and gardens, and top-notch service from cocktails on the terrasse to a ballroom reception.

Manoir Grant Salaberry-de-Valleyfield

Manoir Grant Monteregie Wedding Venue photographed by Lucy Baum Montreal Wedding Photographer

Manoir Grant wedding venue is quaint and rustic with a lot of character. The grounds are very nicely landscaped and there is even a water feature at the back of the property with a fountain. It’s an intimate space with 2 rooms: The main room and the upstairs.

It is a historic house though. In the high summer months, it tends to be warm. There is a top floor where there is a room for preparation, but it may be a little too warm for bridal preparations and I would suggest getting ready at a hotel that’s not too far, such as the Chateau Vaudreuil or the Vaudreuil Holiday Inn and Suites.

Polo Parc Farms Rigaud

Polo Parc Farms wedding venue in Rigaud as photographed by Lucy Baum Montreal Wedding Photographer

Fairly new on the scene, Polo Parc wedding venue has a permanent tent installed on their vast property, to host weddings and other events. They have an outdoor bandstand with a bar for cocktails, and a huge firepit if roasting marshmellows and enjoying a cold brew is your preference over a traditional sweet table!

It’s a charming spot, and even has a cabin for preparations and/or overnight for the bride & groom.

It’s a blank slate. Everything needs to brought in, so a wedding planner is a good idea to take the pressure off!

Auberge des Gallant Ste. Marthe

Auberge des Gallant wedding venue as photographed by Lucy Baum Montreal Wedding Photographer

My sister was married here over 20 years ago and the Auberge is still going strong as one of the most popular Off-Island of Montreal wedding venues. While a little more rustic than the other popular choice of Chateau Vaudreuil, it is still upscale and modern and with every amenity at your fingertips.

A wedding at Auberge des Gallant is one surrounded by nature and quite peaceful. I have photographed at this venue in both Summer and Fall and each have their lovely features, from colourful summer landscaping to brilliant Fall colours. I’ve covered events in each of their two possible event rooms. The main room is attached to the hotel and accommodates larger groups. The smaller event space is down the road, so a bit more planning to get down the road back to the hotel if staying there, is in order. But guests can conveniently park nearer the secondary event space.

The foliage and views are very picturesque no matter the season!

Le Café de L’Horloge Rigaud

Le Café de L’Horloge is an intimate venue located centrally in Rigaud, Quebec. Less than an hour’s drive from the city (and even less if you’re in the West Island or off-island), it’s both artful and refined at the same time. While it has a historical feel about it, it’s more bright and elegant rather than rustic.

If a relaxed luxe is your thing, this wedding and event venue will fit the bill perfectly. It has a lovely and private outdoor garden and terrasses that overlook the water in a picture-perfect way. There is much attention to detail with this venue.

While it is an intimate venue, it can host a decent amount of guests - up to 90 depending on how you decide to use the space (indoor/ outdoor/ tent)

I photographed a non-wedding event here, and in winter! Still so pretty, as it was a mild December day and the morning fog made everything look so magical! No matter the season, photo opportunities abound, especially with their spectacular stained glass feature that’s a real showpiece to incorporate into photographs.

Au Vieux Moulin, Rigaud

Au Vieux Moulin Rigaud Wedding Venue

Au Vieux Moulin is a large and beautifully landscaped, pastoral property. It has a blend of rustic elegance with just a hint of modernity. It has an onside gazebo for ceremonies by the water. It can accommodate up to 105 people for a seated dinner, or up to 135 for a mingling event. It is an incredibly large property as well, spanning several acres. There are colourful flowers as far as the eye can see, small footbridges, the sound of running water, ponds, a lake, and a barn with two horses available to be in your photographs! Au Vieux Moulin is so tucked away that you can easily miss it, but once there, it opens up into this grand, serene, picturesque and private space.

Montreal Vineyard Venues

Souffle de Vie Vineyard, Senneville

Souffle de Vie Vineyard Senneville wedding venue

Souffle de Vie Vineyard in Senneville, QC is the only vineyard that is actually located ON the island of Montreal. Located at the most western tip of the West Island before the Ile aux Tourtes bridge, it is one of the shortest commutes to enjoy a winery wedding experience. For a formal sit-down, there is capacity for about 70-80 people and up to 110 if it’s a cocktail wedding with standing room. Outside, the terrasse can accommodate 100 people. There isn’t on-site catering so couples are free to arrange their own as there is a full kitchen. The venue has a second floor, and while there isn’t a dedicated room for bridal preparation there is plenty of room to do so. The wines they offer are all produced and grown on site and organic.

La Bullerie, St-Joseph-du-Lac

Modern with charm, la Bullerie offers an eclectic and refreshing venue for your wedding. There is a little bit of everything here - a forest at its back, outdoor wrap-around terrasse with firepit features, the vineyard itself, and an event tent for ceremonies. The skies here are vast and star-filled when evening drops, as your guests relax in Muskoka chairs or gather inside one of the beautifully styled reception rooms to celebrate with you. And La Bullerie knows their wine!

Vignoble et cidrerie Coteau Rougemont

Another great option for those looking for a venue that boasts a country feel, with beautiful vistas and lots of greenery and nature. Up the road is the Auberge Le Coteau where you can get ready privately before heading to the main building to greet guests. While La Bullerie is North-West of Montreal, Rougemont is East of the city by one hour. If the flavour of the Eastern Townships is your thing, then Coteau Rougemont is a great choice.
