The “light” reveal: Entrepot Dominion Wedding in Montreal
Elegance meets Industrial for this urban Montreal wedding
Located in the St. Ambroise Industrial District, Entrepot Dominion is a mixed-use working and event space that is a delicious blend of modern and industrial rustic, all mixed into a location.
Would Entrepot Dominion be a good fit for your wedding? This venue is ideal for couples who:
Want an Industrial venue complete with brickwork and exposed piping/ hardware as a backdrop for their wedding.
Would enjoy rooftop wedding photographs with views of Montreal.
Don’t mind the lack of nature in this district, known for a lot of graffiti and train yards.
If you’re looking for a similar Montreal wedding venue but in a more vibrant area of town and more rustic than Industrial, you can consider the Vieux-Port Steakhouse. Click here to see a wedding at Vieux-Port Steakhouse.
Oh, the places we can go
Entrepot Dominion is one of those interesting places that seems to have curiosities around every corner! We had permission from the management to explore the space - some public office spaces (where we found Etch-a-sketches!), the cafeteria with a cute counter and gorgeous light, to the rooftop with an unencumbered view of our fair city. An outdoor wedding can be had in the courtyard, or the small room if rain is predicted.
The “light” reveal
In the spirit of my eternal duality, a light reveal has a double meaning:
To feature select photographs from the wedding
To comment on the light and other elements to be considered when planning your wedding photography at this venue
This Montreal wedding was fairly large, with a large wedding party. Entrepot Dominion’s Large Room fit everyone with ease.
Melissa and Brian opted for an indoor ceremony, and the Small room onsite is perfect for a ceremony. Later we did some outdoor portraits with the wedding party, but did the family formals on another floor where there was an atrium with a piano. The immediate family and the bridal party also ventured to the rooftop for some stunning photos up there.
At a place like Entrepot Dominion, with some permission to roam (I believe there are restricted areas such as locked offices, but public areas are open and abundant), I loved going up to the rooftop and then back outside, and along the way finding cool spots for a variety of photographs. There are couches, counters, nooks for storage, balconies with glass doors, sculptures and art.
The management of the venue is very accommodating and friendly. I have photographed there several times, and each time they have been very attentive to the couple’s needs.
