Lucy, Noir. MacCool's Re-use
In picturesque Prince Edward County, not far from Sandbanks Provincial Park, is MacCool's Re-Use, an old barn filled with nostalgic and vintage treasures.
I love vintage/ antique shopping. More than even finding a gem, I love the atmosphere of the places I find - mood, light, architecture and yesteryear finds. Like old bookstores, many vintage/ thrift/ antique places have this otherworldly flavour that satisfies something inside me as I peruse their crooked, dusty, eclectic spaces and feel that I've been transported somewhere else.
My family and I have vacationed for several summers in Prince Edward County. On our first trip, I immediately made plans to visit the antique spots, especially perfect for overcast or rainy days when we didn't go to the beach. MacCool's was one of the first places I visited, fell in love and have been paying a visit every subsequent year we go. I'm always excited to see if I'll find a fantastic piece for my home.
Last year I emailed Cindy and Colm, asking if the next time I came, could I bring my camera and photograph them and their space for a blog feature. And they agreed! We chatted for awhile and I learned about how they made the move to Prince Edward County, and how they got started in the business. You can find out more about their story here.
You won't regret a visit to this great place - Prince Edward County in general has so much to offer, and MacCool's Re-Use is definitely worth a visit!
