Cave dwellers
Limestone caves about 90 minutes from Ottawa near Renfrew, along the Bonnechere River. I can now add 'spelunker' to my list of roles I've had over my lifetime.
The caves were beautiful. Dark, cool, and seemingly frozen in time. Just like being on the ocean, being underground makes you feel small. Inconsequential. We live in a busy world, we are busy people, and busy takes up all our collective mind-space in the form of screens the sizes our our palms. Here, there is no busy. There is no time. Just stillness.
The guide said they hosted a wedding in one of the larger openings. I wonder who the couple is, because the idea of shooting a wedding in a cave intrigues me.
