Winter wedding: Forest & Stream Club Dorval

An intimate and subdued wedding celebration at the beautiful and exclusive Forest & Stream Club

A charming and picturesque waterfront property with yester-year charm and atmosphere is perfect for a wedding that’s relaxed, yet refined with an intimate luxury touch. With a gorgeous waterfront location, top notch dining and experienced staff helping attend to every detail, your West Island of Montreal wedding has it all at one location.

The Forest & Stream Club was a perfect venue for Julie and Alex. A quiet and private couple, this venue offered a perfect mix of subtlety, care, privacy and elegance. While all amenities were at their fingertips, it had a feel of being married in a private residence. And that was wonderful because everyone felt at home in a warm and welcoming environment. Emphasis on “warm” because this was a winter wedding. It was a typical Montreal wintry day. No snow, but ice on the water! Julie came prepared with boots and an umbrella and despite the wind coming off the water to brave the outdoors for a few minutes.

The Forest & Stream Club is a gem on the West Island of Montreal

Lakeshore Drive that runs through the West Island on the southern edge of the island is a picturesque waterfront drive from the Lachine Canal all the way through to Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. Along the way you will find beautiful homes with spectacular and unencumbered views of Lake St. Louis, walking paths and parks, sporting clubs and wedding venues like the Forest & Stream Club in Dorval and Stewart Hall Cultural Centre in Pointe Claire.

My couples usually don’t fuss about bringing in too much decor and prefer locations like this beautiful club where the details and decor are already stunning. With a venue that already feels like a private home, less to bring in means less to take down and take home! The Forest & Stream Club pays attention to detail so that you can come in and celebrate without a care. It is also a versatile space, allowing for the most intimate of ceremonies inside one of the smaller rooms, to a larger ceremony in the sunroom (with a VIEW!) and can even cater larger events on the property by setting up a tent on the grounds.

The grounds and privacy can make it feel that you’re a lot farther from the city than you actually are. This makes the Forest & Stream club a great choice as a wedding venue. Guests won’t have a long drive from either direction as Dorval is a central location for people coming from Montreal or from off-island such as Vaudreuil. Ample parking and less traffic than the city can make for a stress-free arrival and departure.

The upstairs of this historic home is a perfect spot for a bride to get ready with her gang. Beautiful windows upstairs and period furnishings make for elegant bridal portraits!

Here’s to joy,

Lucy
