Souffle de Vie Vineyard Wedding in Senneville | Dimitri & Lacy
May the fourth be with you: Star Wars inspired intimate wedding at the only vineyard on the island of Montreal
Vows Among the Vines on Star wars day, on a family property. Talk about making a wedding day exactly what you want it to be.
Perched on about 28 hectares of organic land, Souffle de Vie is not just any vineyard — it's the only one on the island of Montreal, tucked into the quiet edges of Senneville. The property benefits from a rare microclimate, several degrees warmer than much of Quebec, helping the grapes ripen just right. The vineyard is planted with a mix: merlot, pinot noir, chardonnay, chenin, and even more local grapes like Saint-Pépin and Petite Perle.
The groom’s family owns the winery and even live nearby, which made the setting especially meaningful as it’s a place woven naturally into their lives. Having the wedding there felt easy, familiar, and right.
An Intimate Vineyard Wedding at Souffle de Vie, Senneville is a perfect choice if you’d love a wedding that feels personal, relaxed, and a little like an escape. It’s one of those places that you don’t realize exists until you start looking for it — right under the West Island’s nose and yet little known — and where everything slows down in the best way.
The wedding was intentionally small, with the bride’s family travelling from the U.S. to attend, and had a true destination feel as many of the family members were in Canada for the very first time! It set the perfect tone for the kind of day that centres connection over production.
Dimitri and Lacy were very laid back. The day didn’t really have any set timeline except for the midday ceremony, officiated by the Member of the National Assembly for Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Marie-Claude Nichols. The rest of the afternoon was easy cocktails and conversation around the property and a pre-delivered catered dinner warmed and ready in the kitchen for serving when we returned from the bridal portraits.
Earlier in the day, family and staff decorated and prepared. They chose the large terrasse overlooking the vineyard for their ceremony. It’s open, bright, and has that effortless vineyard charm without needing much décor — the rows of vines and the sunlight do most of the work. Guests could take in the landscape while still feeling close to the couple, which is exactly what this kind of intimate wedding is all about.
A quirky and personal element was the bridal party. Lacy had her sisters and one friend along - deliberately kept small since travel was involved. But Dimitri couldn’t choose his best guys because, well, to him they were all the best guys! All of his closest friends stood with him. And why not?
After the ceremony, we took a short walk next door to the neighbour’s property, where a beautiful willow tree stands. The families have known each other for years, so with permission, we used the space for portraits. The soft canopy of the willow was a perfect contrast to the open vineyard — a quiet pocket where the two of them could slow down together before rejoining their guests.
A Day That Felt Like Them
Nothing about this wedding was over-planned or overly styled. It was small, meaningful, and full of simple moments that photographed beautifully. The vineyard brought the “escape” feeling; the smaller guest list kept everything personal. And with first-time travel from the U.S. and new family meetings, there was a layer of excitement and togetherness.

I’m here to photograph your joy, and [hopefully] make you ugly-cry (even if in private or just on the inside!)
My mission is your intimate, non-traditional wedding, with elopement feels.
Why Souffle de Vie Is Perfect for Intimate Weddings
Family-owned for that very personal touch. Owners Philippe Druelle and Julie Saint-Pierre (also proud parents in this case!) were lovely hosts.
The vineyard is naturally beautiful — minimal styling needed.
The terrasse gives you a scenic ceremony location without feeling formal.
It’s private and quiet, ideal for smaller weddings or elopement-style celebrations.
It has that “destination close to home” energy. A hop and a skip to Vaudreuil, and to other West Island burroughs. Short commute to downtown Montreal.
They have good wine!
A note that still at the end of 2025, construction on the Île Aux Tourtes bridge is almost at their doorstep. Be mindful of weekend bridge closures that may require an alternate route. And yet, the spot still feels like a sanctuary. When I was there I couldn’t see any of the construction and it was a quiet and tranquil environment.
Here’s to joy!
