Intimate courtyard wedding in the Old Port of Montreal

Nestled on a side street near the Old Port of Montreal is KeVINO Daylight Factory, an intimate restaurant with a charming courtyard that opens up to a larger courtyard of the buildings surrounding it. It was a pleasure to have been part of Jac and Mathieu’s wonderfully personal and intimate wedding. (update: I was saddened to hear that KeVINO closed their doors permanently in 2020.)

Booking while in the mountains

I was contacted by Jac when I was deep in the mountains out west on a family trip, upon my arrival in a tiny, wifi-questionable town called Radium Hot Springs, shown in the images above. It had a total Swiss Alps vibe, but in the heart of Canada’s Rockies! After soaking in the hot springs, I returned to our tiny, kitschy motel to Jac’s message. Upon my return to Montreal, we were booked and ready to go!

The most relaxed and personal vibe

Intimate weddings are wonderful because I’m made to feel like part of the group and I love that feeling of being immersed and not just a hired vendor. And Jac and Mathieu made absolutely every effort to make me feel welcome and like family!

Jac got ready in a nearby apartment and then met Mathieu for a first look in the larger courtyard. Mathieu is by far one of my most emotional grooms - his reaction to Jac was truly priceless and so happy!

There were many children at the wedding and they had a blast in that little space. We felt insulated from the world for a little while, except when we took a break with the couple to walk down the street to a tiny park. We returned to a group enjoying great food and great ambiance in this quaint gem of a discovery in Montreal.

Accolade: The photo of Jac’s wedding dress with the curious Bengal kitty, placed 6th in the Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada’s Winter 2020 competition, dress category.

Here’s to joy,

Lucy

Venue: KeVINO Daylight Factory
