I profiled Jack Layton Park as a great place for engagement photos near Montreal back in 2021, and while the parking situation has changed (non-residents must park further out), the park is beautiful as always. Bonus for this engagement session in our picturesque Monteregie region of Montreal was that it was the perfect day with the perfect sunset.

This Montreal engagement venue is approximately an hour outside of the Montreal core, or about 40 minutes from the West Island of Montreal.
This engagement venue is best suited for couples looking for a natural and relaxed session. This means fashionable but comfy footwear. There is a walk from the parking to the main area of the park, and pathways are gravel, grass and boardwalk (where heels can get stuck!) Summer dress and flats or sandals are perfect! Even if your session is in much more of a natural environment, I still encourage hair and makeup done to feel and look your best. Discuss matching those elements to the feel of the session with your stylist. If the wind picks up on the cliffs overlooking the water, a windblown look can be in your future!
The sun sets over the water so we time things to finish up as the sun touches the trees. When the sun is higher in the sky still, walking along the boardwalk gets you to a clearing where they sun peeks through the trees as well for a beautiful sun-ray effect.
