Lucy, Noir. The Bates-ish Motel
A small motel in the Laurentians where I stayed with a colleague, when we drove up to shoot a wedding in the area.
On first look the place looked quite run down, but there was more than met the eye. The room was clean, updated and had super-comfy plush beds (and after 10 hours on our feet, we were glad for that!). Although Bates-ish Motel from the front (that brought out all sorts of jokes of what might happen to us after dark), out the back was a charming wooded lawn, a river, and all the fresh air one could want.
A bit run down ourselves from a busy wedding day, we headed to the riverfront for a few minutes before heading back to the city. It was very calm and peaceful. Admittedly, we briefly speculated about the contents of the wheelbarrow, but told ourselves it really was wood that he was transporting.
